How do SEO and SEM work?
SEO is getting on Google organically without having to pay for advertising, while SEM is appearing as an advertisement on Google’s page. There is no charge for advertising no matter how many clicks the user makes.
How does SEM work?
Search Engine Marketing is the process of paying Google to display advertisements on its pages, through “advertising”. Advertizing will be done with Pay Per Click, or PPC, meaning “paying for advertising only when it is clicked.”
The Google Ads system or Google Ads charge for clicks from various websites to bid CPC (Cost Per Click) to see who will pay for the ads. This means, if a keyword is highly competitive, the user may have to increase the auction-rate to make the website appear above their competitors.
But Google will also consider the quality of the website. If any website is of higher quality, it will have a chance to pay for clicks or lower CPC rates. For example, if the website abc.com advertises in the Keyword “baby cart” in the Keyword, there is a CPC auction at 5 baht per click. If the ad shows and no one clicks, the abc.com website does not have to pay advertising fees to Google.
