Multicultural Digital Marketing Communications for The AICHI Police Department

Mondo Marketing has been approved to work with the Aichi police department for projects related to inter-activities with foreign citizens living in Japan. The Aichi Prefectural Police, International Police Affairs Center Education and Training Division are working to improve communications with the foreign population by building a series of videos to be published and distributed through some social media networks. With headquarters in Nagoya and the office in Tokyo, Mondo Marketing is a multilingual digital marketing agency with native speaking staff from 10 different countries.

Mondo Marketing is happy to help the Japanese Police Department (in AICHI) to develop small orientation interactive media in 8 different languages to guide and promote activities in Japan by both national Japanese and foreign residents. Because Japan has an increasing number of entrants and foreign residents every year. And to provide foreign citizens living in Japan with access to accurate and useful information. Therefore, we are determined and dedicated to help disseminate important information including the rules and laws that the residents should know. So that foreigners living in Japan can easily access and understand. Because we truly understand how important the correct information is and how helpful it will be for foreign citizens. 

Mondo Marketing has been assisting the Aichi Police Department to develop and manage several Multilingual Social Media Marketing campaigns though various platforms, aiming to be user-friendly, convenient and easy to assimilate, in order to deliver comprehensive, up-to-date information efficiently.
The reach of this campaigns has extent to almost every foreign citizen in AICHI that has activity of SNS networks. Most importantly, YouTube.

Chinese

The amount of Chinese citizens in Japan has increased since the past 10 years (Approximately 780,000 Chinese residents living in Japan in the end of 2020) and the number is likely to continue to rise (Ref: https://jp-i.net/CHN1, https://jp-i.net/CHN2, https://jp-i.net/Residentstat). And because Japan is a country with many local regulations which may be difficult for Chinese citizens to understand them all in a short period of time. In order to help the Chinese people get into rules and regulations in their daily life, such as Cycling rules, littering rules, or driving licenses. We, therefore, intend to spread information about both texts and videos in Chinese language to help Chinese people understand easily and have more comfort in living in Japan.

English

English is a global language and is recognized as an official language in a total of 67 different countries. While over the years, Japan is one of the choices that foreigners using English are interested in living in and the number of foreigners coming to Japan has been increasing. For all foreigners entering the country and residing in Japan, the details of activities or actions taken during their living will be detailed in detail with Immigration Control and Refugee Recognition Law. We make sure to help spread useful contents and immigration laws to foreign citizens using English the best we can.

Vietnamese

The number of Vietnamese entering Japan significantly increased in recent years (Ref : https://jp-i.net/VN_1 ). In 2018, Almost 331,000 foreign residents from Vietnam were living in Japan, representing an increase from around 262,000 in the previous year. In 2019, around 371,755 Vietnamese people lived in Japan, making it the third largest foreign community in the country. In order to help Vietnamese citizens understand local rules and regulations, we came up with media in their local languages for better understanding.

Spanish

In 2019, the number of residents from Spain registered in Japan amounted to a total of 3,620 people. This represented an increase compared to 2000, when approximately 1,340 registered residents in Japan were from Spain. (Ref : https://jp-i.net/JIN_SP ) According to that there are many Spanish speaking countries in the world, as Spanish is the official language of more than 20 countries making it second only to Chinese in terms of the most spoken languages in the world. And there are more and more foreign residents moving in Japan (Ref: https://jp-i.net/Residentstat) Even the number of Spanish speaker in Japan is slowly growing up, but still most of information haven’t been translated to Spanish, to support foreign resident using Spanish living in Japan. We create content in Spanish and make sure the information is accurate and useful.

Korean

In June 2020, there were 435,459 registered foreigners in Japan with South or North Korean nationality. They accounted for 15.1 percent of the total of 2,885,904 foreigners registered in Japan. The Korean community in Japan had a huge significance in Japanese society as the major ethnic minority, which continues to this day. (Ref : https://jp-i.net/Residentstat ) According to the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, about 1,800 South Korean students found jobs in Japan in 2018, up 30% from a year earlier and still increasing. (Ref : http://www.hrdkorea.or.kr/ ) So the number of Korean residents in Japan is increasing slowly every year. We are pleased to create content in Korean about Japanese rules, regulations, important announcements and many more for Korean residents understanding better.

Filipino

Filipinos are the fourth-largest foreign group after the Chinese, South Korean, and Vietnamese communities, with many choosing to spend their lives here. As of June 2020, 282,023-strong Philippine communities legally living in Japan – held permanent resident visas, much higher than the 28 percent for foreign nationals overall. (Ref : https://jp-i.net/Residentstat ). To reach the heart of the Filipino community in Japan and help make Japanese rules and regulations easier for Filipinos to understand, Mondo and The AICHI Police department come up with easy understanding contents in their local languages because understanding rules will not only help prevent foreigner from violating the rules but it also help our foreign residents feel comfortable to live in Japan as well.

Portuguese

Portuguese is an official language in many countries, mainly in Brazil. Number of Brazilian residents in Japan from the Ministry of Justice statistics on foreign residents in Japan. According to the Ministry of Justice’s statistics, of foreign residents in Japan, In view of the trend from 1991 onwards, the number of Brazilian residents increased up until around 2005. At the end of 2020, there are 211,178 Brazilian residents living in Japan. (Ref : https://jp-i.net/Residentstat ) In order to support and educate our Portuguese speaker about living in Japan and Japanese rules. We are happy to make contents in Portuguese to spread information, knowledge, and ideas. We believe it is absolutely necessary for effective and empathetic communication between different cultures.

Aichi Prefectural POLICE

The Aichi Prefectural Police Department was Founded 1871 (Meiji 4), serving the 4th. most populated prefecture in Japan and it’s located in the Chūbu region of Honshū. The Aichi Prefecture is located on Japan’s Pacific Ocean coast and forms part of the Tōkai region, a subregion of the Chūbu region and Kansai region from which Nagoya is the capital and largest city, and the fourth-largest city in Japan. Other major cities include Toyota, Okazaki, and Ichinomiya. Toyota city (formerly known as KOROMO) is home to the Toyota Motor Corporation, the world’s largest automotive manufacturer.

According to Aichi Prefecture Statistics Division, the total population of the prefecture was of 7,553,395 people, from which the number of foreign residents was of 281,153 (A/O Dec.2019)
